This is a basic course on sketching and painting in Corel Painter with a LOT of content. You will learn to sketch using a grid method and also with basic facial guide lines. It is a great place to begin ~ there are separate videos on sketching the eyes, the lips, the nose, and even ears. There are demos on how to paint and shade the skin and how to paint hair. We have given you nozzles for Image Hoses and patterns for the Pattern Pens to make your works more creative, in a fun Mixed Media way.
You will receive sketches for practice, backgrounds, brushes, color palettes, and more. We will even show you how to create your own colorful mixed-media backgrounds which will be perfect for those of you who wish to try some mixed-media art journaling. We will walk you through 3 projects with lots of content.
One thing I love about Corel Painter is the fact that we can all begin with the same supplies and follow along with the same video(s), yet come up with something totally unique ~ something of “your own”.
A word about sketching, faces, and the journey: I am not where I want to be in my own art journey. I have miles to go before I can create the type of work I see in my head. I can see where I want to be, yet I know I am not there yet. But it is a journey and I do feel that I am on the right road. I also know it will take me quite a while to make progress. I hope there is no “end of the road” for my learning. I want to continue and push as far as I can. I also know that no matter where I am on this road, it is right where I am supposed to be. It can’t be rushed. I can’t be influenced by the work of others. It is simply “my own”.
And I say this to you in hopes that you will enjoy your own journey and follow your own road. Is this making sense? You are right where you need to be in your own journey.
Join us in this fun, inspiring sketch-and-paint workshop ~ even if you have never drawn a face before, these simple steps will get you started down your own “road” of creativity. We will be sketching without the aid of any photos ~ not nearly as scary as you might imagine.
And, after you learn the basics, you will be able to move on to more expressive drawing, sketching, and painting. Because, once you know the rules and practice, then you can break the rules! Let the fun begin!
