The Colors of Africa

Now that I am home from Tanzania and going through images taken I realize that I was influenced by the colors of Africa.  I also hope to expand a bit more in this thicker impasto style.  Corel Painter 2015 allows for a great range of expression with a multitude of brushes.  The main brush used here is one of my own called Scraped Paint.  I adjusted it to paint on new layers not just the canvas layer, ending up with 15+ layers.  Then each layer was adjusted with blending modes as well as hue, saturation, contrast, and value.  This is the final result after merging all the layers.

Ever have the feeling that you just need more hours in a day?

Hope you have some sunshine today and that Spring is on it’s way to you.

Johan Kotze - Colours of Africa : rich, vibrant. The orange and blue especially are my favourites. Can’t wait for your videos, I love the layer idea. I have no idea how to use it.ReplyCancel
